May 6, 2000

Barrett Watten presents Zone: The Poetics of Space, an illustrated reading/talk on the poetics of spatial fantasy from Charles Orson to Detroit, the underside of postmodernism, and the aesthetic issue of Stan Douglas’ photographic series Le Détroit. The reading is part of a project of The Office for Soft Architecture co-sponsored by Artspeak Gallery, the Kootenay School of Writing, The Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery (University of British Columbia), Charles H. Scott Gallery (Emily Carr Institutes of Arts of Design), and The Simon Fraser University for the Contemporary Arts.
